ABOUT CHOLET, FRANCECholet is in the west of France and is a 3 hour drive from Paris, 30 minutes from Nantes Airport and 1 hour from the ocean.

57,000 people reside in Cholet which is the Fashion Capital, making shoes and frances' most famous ready-to-wear designs. It is known as the City with a heart of flowers and hosts a range of activities including carnivals, great Theatrical performances, a Museums of Art and History, Notre Dame Church, frances' most important cattle market, the Oriental Garden at Maulevrier (Europes largest Japanese garden) and last but not least the Basketball team, Cholet Basket.

The team has played in Pro A competition since 1987. During this time they have played 12 times in the European Cup (1 semi final) and also in the Euroleague 1999/2000. The club has placed above 6th position in the National League on all but 2 occasions. The Coach for this season (2001/2002) is Savo Vucevic who is of French/Montenegro nationality and it is both his and the clubs goal to achieve the European Cup.

Tony joined Cholet Basket in August 2001 and played many pre-season games. During the Angers 2001 tournament he was awarded a Gold All Star trophy for the Best Scorer of the competition. Following this Tonys season in the National League commenced on October 6th. The season poses to be a tough one but it is his aim to win.

After finishing the season in position 3 of the League tables, the playoffs started for Cholet on 24th of May 2002. The first game played at home ended in a success. Cholet travelled to Dijon on Tuesday 28th May for Game 2 of the Playoffs which they won. Now for the Semi Finals!!! Cholet faced Asvel at their home for the first semi-final game and at the home of Cholet for the second game. Unfortunately Cholet were defeated in both games which bought the close of the season for Cholet Basket. A VERY GOOD SEASON FOR CHOLET BASKET AND FOR THE FANS AND SUPPORTERS OF CHOLET BASKETBALL.
